Back to School…
January 19, 2006You know we’ve got a good thing going…
January 12, 2006uggh So much to report and only 20 minutes in which to do it in. First of all, I bought www.nothingcreativetoday.com and am in the process of setting my blog up there, however I can’t figure out how to get it to work and I need a book or something to figure it all out.. BUT SOON MY FRIENDS you will no longer have to remember my crazy URL. Sooo since I last posted I’ve celebrated new years, turned 21, visited Las Vegas, Started School, and seen The Reel Big Fish live in concert. New years was really fun- Every year Salt Lake City has this thing called First Night. They block off a few roads and have a lot of activities to do- I went with my friends Marci, Melinda and Mikey. We saw some improv comedy and a really interesting band called Shake Your Peace. They were an anti-war band out of New York. I would really like to see them again sometime, but I can’t find any info on them anywhere.. So if you know anything about them, LET ME KNOW. After New years I flew out to Las Vegas on January 3rd (happy birthday to me!) which was pretty cool. Going to Vegas alone isn’t much fun, but it was still great to meet the people who trained me and to see the cityscape. Las Vegas is insane, and I really want to go back. I didn’t get a chance to really see much of the strip, But from what I saw it was crazy. I stayed at the Orleans, which was cute… I guess… It was very smoky and everything tasted like cigarettes… It was gross. During my stay at the Orleans I totally gambled.. I lost a couple bucks in slot machines that I didn’t really understand. Whatever.. There were a lot of really pretty lights and funny sounds and that’s all that REALLY matters. I only stayed for one night, but get this, At the Airport, I totally saw Billy F Gibbons. When I came home my the girls took me out to dinner and a movie which was SUPER nice of them. We went to Rumbi’s for dinner and it was TASTY. If you haven’t been there before, I’d highly suggest it. The took me to see Memoirs of a Geisha which was pretty good. OOH! They also took me to get ice cream and all these people sang to me. It was some good times. I had a really great birthday this year. I think that brings us to this week. (Phew) THIS WEEK, I started another fun filled semester here at the university of Utah. So far I’ve really liked my classes (Except drawing, of course). I’m taking Ethnic studies and Urban Geography along with my art classes this semester and I’m really excited about them. Both classes sound really interesting and both teachers seem really nice. I’m also taking 2-d Studio (Drawing) and 3-d Studio (Sculpture) this semester which are so far so good. It’s been good to see my friends from last semester. I didn’t realize how much I missed them until seeing them again. Isn’t it weird how that happens? FINALLY, I went to see the Reel Big Fish this week, and they were Rockin’ as usual. This is either the 4th or 5th time I’ve seen them, and I have to say, they always put on a great show. It was really refreshing to see a good ska show again. Anyways kiddies, I have to go to class now, but I will try and post more often! Stay tuned for more info on www.nothingcreativetoday.com and have a good’un!
