Look how close I’ve come.. I’m far away

April 27, 2006

Well Pre-art is officially over, and I have to say I feel pretty good about it. Today while finishing up my last drawing I realized that I have actually somewhat improved in the subject (that’s not to say that I’m good, I’m just slightly better) and I have to say, I will sincerely miss that class. I’m not soo worried about losing friends anymore though. I’ve been reassured by some friends, and also decided to apply my mantra to the issue. (Whatever happens, happens) It is a bummer though that I wont be able to see all my friends 2-4 times a week, but I guess I should just be happy that I had the experience right? Of course I am. My good buddy Marci took bought me a smoothie today. It was tasty. While at the cute coffee shop that I love so much, we decided to make a super list of things to do over the summer. Wanna see it?

April 23, 2006

So this weekend has been a pretty cool weekend, EXCEPT TONIGHT MY CAR WAS BOOTED… Yeah that sucked. Did you know it costs EIGHTY dollars to have a boot removed? I didn’t either until tonight. Stupid parking lot. There is quite a bit of concern that people are no longer doing things in down town salt lake city… ITS BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO PAY EVERY TIME YOU PARK ANYWHERE AND GUESS WHAT? NOT EVERYONE CARRIES AROUND DOZENS OF DOLLAR BILLS AND ROLLS OF QUARTERS!!!!!!!! So yeah.. Obviously I’m a little pissed off about that. Boots aside so far this weekend has been really good and I think that everything depressing me from my last post will be alright. I suppose we shall see what happens. (whatever happens, happens) I have quite a few things lined up for this summer and I think that it will prove to be fun, assuming I don’t get booted anymore and can actually afford anything… I’m thinking about taking a class of some sort that isn’t of the college kind.. You know.. Classes you take to learn things instead of earn grades.. So far I’ve though about Yoga, Glass blowing, and Pottery. Not too sure if you can take glass blowing class, but I think it’d be really awesome to learn how to make all those pretty glass things you see at the farmers market. oooh I’ve also volunteered to watch artists’ booths at the Utah arts festival this summer, so I guess we shall see if that pans out. Well kiddies its kind of late and I’ve gotta bust out TWO drawings tomorrow. Ughh. That really sucks. Anyways Have a good’un

Bleach Anyone?

Blahhhhh I’m being nostalgic and its sort of depressing me. As the semester is coming to an end, I can’t wait for the summer- (speaking of which DAVE MATTHEWS IS COMING BACK TO SLC!!) Anyways, today it finally hit me that the semester, the year, is actually ending. Eight days left in the classroom. Eight Days. It’s weird. It’s bittersweet. I’m so excited to be in the Photo program next fall, but I will really miss pre-art. As much as I have bitched and moaned about drawing, or other various projects, I will really miss it. I don’t know if I will miss the subjects as much as I will my instructors. And friends. Especially my friend. Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about my old ward when I lived in Taylorsville. I had so many friends there, it was my favorite place to be out of anywhere. When I moved to Sandy I would go back to see my friends but it always felt different, I felt like a visitor, because I was. My “family” had moved on without me. Maybe that’s why I fell away. I hate it that things have to change, it’s not fair. I hate it that friendships end just because people move, or get new jobs, or take different classes. I mean people always say that they will stay in touch or whatever, but they never do. And if they do, its never the same. I also hate it when you realize that you’ve had something in front of you but failed to take advantage of it. I hate it that there is no solution. Anyways, I think I’m being a little over-dramatic. I’m just really going to miss it. I didn’t totally screw up this year though, a lot of really good things have come about because of these past two semesters. Just when I thought I knew who I was and what I believe in, I was completely blindsided. My stance on many issues stemming from my dad’s addictions have changed, I’ve become more open to things that scare me, and that’s good. I’m happy that I’m not afraid anymore. I’ve finally learned that I can be myself around people who aren’t like me and they will still like me, and if they don’t, it doesn’t matter. Hmmm this is a pretty heavy post. Eight days. That’s insane.
