Are you playin those love games with me?

May 30, 2007

Have I ever mentioned that I adore Sarah? Because I do. Whether its listening to me drone on about whatever I’m feeling insecure about today, or going to Ikea, time spent with Sarah is guaranteed good times.

Sarah
I like the way you think.
Mallory
I like the way you wiggle.
Sarah
ARE YOU CALLING ME FAT?!
Mallory
no.
Sarah
bitch. I hate you.
Sarah
lol
Mallory
its like “you got any fries with that shake?” but its dirty and old mannish.
Sarah
I love that you’re slowly transforming yourself into a sleazy bar fly.
Mallory
lol
Sarah
a lounge lizard, as it were.

Onward Ever Onward

May 30, 2007

Today my heart is swollen with love for the girls from twolooseteeth and their family. Sarah and Lisa’s littlest brother is preparing to serve an LDS mission so Maac and I decided to drive down to their parent’s house on Sunday to listen to Jeff speak in church. (So. Many. Links.)

The drive was really nice, Marci and I made super mixes to sing along with for the bulk of the trip. Nothing is better than Neil Diamond, Lionel Richie, and Old Gregg while driving through small unknown towns.

The meeting and shin-dig following were both heart-warmingly lovely.

I am so excited for Young Jeffrey and wish him the best of luck!

Don’t let yourself down

MUSE IS COMING TO UTAH.

Yeah, yeah, I know I went last time they came but I’m really excited about it. Because um IT’S MUSE. Save Tool and A Perfect Circle, Muse is probably the biggest musical influence on my work as a photographer. I don’t really know how to explain it without sounding cheesy, but I want my work to look like what a Muse song sounds like. The way they layer sounds and incorporate lyrics (quality lyrics I might add) is really inspiring to me. Just sayin, Muse is AWESOME, and I’m not the only person who thinks so.

If you’re new to Muse, might I suggest the following songs: Unintended, Cave, Thoughts of a Dying Atheist, Apocalypse Please, Sing for Absolution, Falling away with you, Super Massive Black Hole, Starlight, Soldier’s Poem, Exo-Politics, and Butterflies and Hurricanes. Below are the lyrics to Butterflies and Hurricanes. It’s probably my favorite song of theirs. GO CHECK IT OUT!! AND GET EXCITED!

change,
everything you are
and everything you were
your number has been called

fights,
battles have begun
revenge will surely come
your hard times are ahead

best,
you’ve got to be the best
you’ve got to change the world
and you use this chance to be heard
your time is now

change,
everything you are
and everything you were
your number has been called
fights and battles have begun
revenge will surely come
your hard times are ahead

best,
you’ve got to be the best
you’ve got to change the world
and you use this chance to be heard
your time is now

don’t,
let yourself down
don’t let yourself go
your last chance has arrived

best,
you’ve got to be the best
you’ve got to change the world
and you use this chance to be heard
your time is now

Gonna float on baby would you understand?

All I want is more

Heeeey Did you know I have a flickr account?

Well you do now.

I’m a photographer and stuff… So you should check out my work and tell me what you think.

What ever happened to suburban rhythm?

May 22, 2007

So. I am having a hard time blogging lately. I think it’s because things are going so awesomely. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. (It’s okay to be awesome!) I went to the Living Traditions Festival last weekend and had a blast. There should be more festivals about foreign foods. Because um. Yeah. Tasty.

I’m thinking that someone somewhere should open a little shop that serves fresh churros. Because I’d go there every day. Also? Spring rolls are delicious.

Aside from the delicious delicacies, the festival had a lot of cultural activities as well. We saw various arts and crafts from different countries as well as some live performances. Have I mentioned I love festivals? I think I have once or twice…

There’s just nothing like it, I love watching different genres of people interacting. Summer festivals seem to be one of the few places where different people from different aspects of life (race, religion, political beliefs, sexuality, etc) join together and seem to forget about the woes of the world.

Anyway, I guess that’s all I have to say about that. You should go to more festivals though. Especially the Arts Festival. Because I will be volunteering. And running the 5K.

Have a good’un.

Suddenly I see this is what I want to be

May 19, 2007

I’ve been sort of bad at blogging lately, but whatever. Here’s a brief list of what I’ve been doing instead of blogging…

Training to run my first ever 5K
Watching the Utah Jazz defeat the Golden State Warriors
Falling for Mohinder all over again
LOST!!nuff said
Spending some much needed time with my little brother
Enjoying my job
Making plans on how to get a Step Dad
Listening to good music
Eating Good food
Shopping
Some more shopping
Planning out the summer, and all its fun activities
Kick boxing
Catching up with old friends
Catching up with family, who I don’t see often enough I might add
Appreciating and getting creeped out by good movies

While the issue that sparked my “must be doing something or sleeping” attitude has since been resolved, I’ve decided to carry on like it hasn’t. I’ve grown rather accustomed to my new found lifestyle and am weary of falling into old habits. You know like sitting in front of the computer for hours at a time when I could be at the gym, spending time with friends etc etc . So there you go, I think I’ll be back to blogging on a regular basis again in no time.

Swing life away

There are many here among us who feel that life is but a joke

May 11, 2007

Jake says:
did you hear they announced an end date to Lost?
Mallory says:
that’s what Jeremy said!
Jake says:
it upsets me
Mallory says:
at least by then we’ll have all the answers? and then after we can watch them on DVD and discover things we never picked up on before
Jake says:
we’ll have the answers THREE YEARS FROM NOW
Jake says:
I’m upset how much longer it’s going on
Mallory says:
oh okay
Jake says:
one of my big fears is that I’ll die before knowing how it ends

It’s good to know that I have friends that share my beliefs, and know what’s truly important.

Into a pattern we fell of prolonging the inevitable

May 10, 2007

So I don’t particularly believe in horoscopes, especially when they are produced by MSN, but I thought these were strangely appropriate today.

Capricorn
May 10, 2007
Quite often one can hear you complain about not knowing which voice to listen to. There is no “right” or “wrong”, but you, among other signs, are often fooled into thinking so. This is really the main issue for you: accepting the uncertainty in life.

Of course after checking mine I looked up some other signs.

Gemini
May 10, 2007
Matters regarding your heart are likely to get a bit sticky, dear Gemini. Perhaps you feel as if someone is shutting themselves off from you and being extremely stubborn about it. Perhaps this person is playing the old “cold shoulder” trick, in which they are simply refusing to acknowledge you until you apologetically come crawling back. The problem is that your pride is strong, and your view on the matter is equally as stubborn, making it difficult for any resolution whatsoever.

For the record? I’m not expecting any sort of ‘crawling back.’ But I thought it was strangely appropriate nonetheless.
