So, the semester starts in two friggin days. TWO DAYS and only one of my teachers has gotten around to disclosing what books they will be using, guess I won’t be getting a half.com discount anytime soon. What. Ever. I don’t have anything in particular to write about… As the summer comes to an end, I find myself really sad to go back to school, because I know come May, I’ll be sad that its summer, Its a vicious cycle you see. Mostly I’m not looking forward to the financial crunch that usually accompanies photography classes… But hopefully with my raise and added hours, it won’t be too bad. I’m still selling my Jetta if anyone’s interested. ANYWAYS…
Mikey and I went to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers last week, and Damn, that was a really good show. I don’t think their music really showcases their talent, but their live shows definitely do. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen anyone play the way they do, it was really cool, and if you get the chance to see them, you won’t be disappointed, I promise. Along with the great music, the crowd was really eclectic, which is always a lot of fun. In particular, the man in front of us really loved the peppers. He knew all the songs, and made up his own special dances for each song, which at the end of each, he would passionately throw up the “hang loose” sign into the air, to remind the peppers that they are in fact, from California. Anyways, they’re great live, I’d put them in the top 10, if not top 5 best played shows I’ve ever seen. I should make a list like that.. It’d be fun.
Friday night, after enjoying a fun picnic in the park with Jessie, Sarah, Marci , and I went to a midnight movie and then to breakfast (Brefuss) at 3 AM. It was an insane night, that re-affirmed my belief that the summer list is the best idea I have ever had. During our outing, we met a crazy man who claimed he was from Scotland, Orange county, Australia, AND Hawaii. He was also autistic, artistic, and enjoyed drinking “Donny Osmonds.” (and this all happened, BEFORE we watched goonies) once the movie started up, he ran away somewhere, and we never saw him again. Perhaps he went surfing with his black dogs. After the movie, we went to Village Inn and enjoyed some 3:00 AM breakfast. There we saw an old customer at the UPS Store, and made a new friend. We knew that we’d be friends the moment he brought Sarah 4 Diet cokes, all at the same time. Truly, a match made in heaven.
Have a good’un
